Reflecting on the Ongoing Victory of the Resurrection!
“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:55-58
The resurrection of Christ should shape our everyday life. Through the Lord Jesus Christ we now have victory over death. From when we put our faith in Christ our eternal life with God began. Paul tells us that because death is no longer our enemy, we can “be steadfast and immovable” even when we don’t understand what’s happening. Our Risen Savior rules over everything that would confuse us!
Continuing to Pray and Partner in Ministry
Please continue to pray with us as Kevin travels several times this year to minister through IBAC training for pastors and church leaders. The opportunities to start new course modules continues to grow in Mexico. We are currently working in 7 cities in South America and Mexico and have new opportunities in 3 more locations the second half of this year. Kevin will be teaching in July, all of September, and parts of October and November in some of these locations.
Please pray, too, for potential new opportunities right here in Ohio. Kevin has been meeting with a church friend, Marco, who is from Peru, and they are planning an outreach in the Dayton, Ohio area, with Hispanics.
Over the last year and a half, we have been dealing with Tia and some medical issues. Different issues have arisen recently with increasing back pain from a slipping vertebrae and sciatica. Thank you for your continued prayers for her—especially as she sees a specialist mid-May.
And in family news, we praise the Lord for new family bonds. Katy married Brandon Hermes on April 7, and on June 2, Tara will marry Joe Zavodney.
