"My God will supply every need"

October 2, 2018

Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit. I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.                                                  Philippians 4:17-18 (ESV)

Dear Ministry Partners,

This letter comes as a simple explanation and request of our current needs. Having been back just over a year, we have been so blessed with ministry opportunities, much more then we could even have imagined.

As many of you have seen, with the last pastoral training that took place in Bolivia we were blessed far more than we were expecting. We had planned for 50 participants—but had an attendance of between 80-90, with 73 men able to attend all sessions and receive a certificate. This is just ONE example of the blessings in ministry we have experienced. In addition to the growth we have seen in IBAC (Bible Institutes of the Americas and the Caribbean) pastoral training modules in and outside of Costa Rica, our ministry at the Spanish Language Institute and Sojourn continues; the prison ministry and outreach also continues to progress as the Costa Rican Government has also given us permission to train evangelical chaplains recognized by the government; and we continue, too, with ministries in our own local and other churches with Bible and mission conferences mobilizing our Christian brothers and sisters in Christ here in Costa Rica and beyond.

We thank all those who are praying with us and we thank many of you who have given toward the financial needs to achieve these ministries. We have recently received special gifts for the Bolivian ministry and for the scholarship.  We are so excited for these responses.

We would like to share with you our need. Looking over the last year, we clearly see the need to ask for help for our own monthly ministry support needs. We don’t see a need for personal funds that cover salary, health insurance, housing etc. to be increased at this time.  We do see the need particularly in areas of ministry costs. The reality is we are doing more ministry and therefore spend more than we planned in training materials, Bibles, and support travel than when we first planned our ministries fund budget in the fall of 2016. We need to raise at least $500 more per month to deal with the many ministry opportunities and the costs related to them. I have said many times, “we don’t do ministry for money, but it takes some money to do ministry.”

We know that many of you already give or have given. Your gifts are how we have covered ministry costs over this past year even if we have spent more than our budget allowed. God has provided in every case! We have three churches supporting us and 20 individuals with monthly commitments. Many of you have helped with one-time gifts and we are very thankful. Perhaps you would like to make a monthly commitment or could share our need for funds for ministry with others, or perhaps you may know of a church with whom we can share the ministry to share as partners in prayer and finances.

“God’s work done in God’s way will never lack God’s supply.”― J. Hudson Taylor

Above all, please continue to pray that the Lord meets all the needs in His timing and in His way. We appreciate those prayers and your time.

With faith in Him, Kevin and Tia Reilly
